Ps 91:1-11 NLT
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
8 Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.
9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.

As we reflect upon the ten-year anniversary of the most devastating day in American history, I pray for the ones who lost someone they loved on that terrible day. No words can be given that will bring a loved one back… and some wounds never fully heal with time.

When I think about the friends I have lost in the military it brings a tear to my eye. It is very hard to express the emotions of this day for me. As I sit in a Army uniform on a 27 hour shift, I cannot help but wonder, what would have happened if Americans did not respond to the call of their countries needs. What would have happened if no-one… no-one came to the aid of this great nation. It truly is a great nation, like no other. Sure we have our faults, but America will always be here… striving to get better… striving to be a light in this world.

I want to leave with a prayer for the nation and for the grieving. Please pray this today.

The Lord alone is my refuge on this day. He will keep you and sustain you. He will cover you with His love. We do not need to fear, for the perfect love of Christ casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Though we greave and mourn, we know that the night is the darkest before the dawn… We know that a nation that turns to the Lord will be healed (2 Chron 7:14). No evil is to great for God, even death could not hold our Lord and savior Jesus Christ (Rev 1:18). He orders the steps of the righteous (Psalm 37:23) let us turn to Him today.

God Bless
